VAT on Personalised Number Plates
We have recently successfully argued on behalf of a car leasing company, the recovery of VAT on a number plate which was directly related to the company name. HMRC fought the case and at the eleventh hour, backed down. The VAT on the plate was £122.000!!
The directors of the company, having previously been denied recovery of input tax, were understandably delighted with the outcome.
We are currently arguing with HMRC in relation to a similar issue for a major property development company in the North West where the VAT involved is around £45,000. |
