| Staff Hire Concession As far as the Budget is concerned, it’s often what is not said that can be important. The Chancellor managed to slip in a “Technical Note”, buried among all the other notices which we only discovered yesterday. It appears that the Staff Hire Concession is to be withdrawn with effect from 1 April 2009. From that date, VAT will be due on the total consideration for the supply of staff not just on the agent's margin.
